About Us

Freedom to create. Courage to dream. Justice to resist. Ideias Livres Comics was born from the uncontrollable desire to tell stories that really matter — stories of heroes who don't just wear capes, but carry on their backs their roots, their pain and the fight for what is right. Founded and conceived by Ivan Cesar S. Pinheiro, Ideias Livres Comics delves into human emotions and injustices to create worlds that, although fantastic, are deeply real. Here, each character carries not only superpowers, but also the weight of life stories that reflect our own daily struggles.

- ROCKET: Straight from Porto Alegre, Rocket represents the hope that resists the flames of injustice. A space engineer who, after fleeing a destroyed planet, transforms his new home on Earth into his new home — and his new mission. In the body of Carlos da Silva Neves, Rocket is the symbol of resilience, family and the silent fight against corruption, facing enemies who want to destroy what remains of dignity in the world.

- BLACK BIRD: In the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, the Black Bird flies without permission and without mercy for the corrupt. Antônio Simas Nogueira, abandoned by his mother, a survivor of violence and injustice, uses his military skills and his sharp mind to hunt the real monsters that the system protects. Without superpowers, only with the strength of will and intelligence, he proves that a hero's greatest weapon is his conscience.

- WIND: With Afro-Brazilian roots and carrying the fury of Iansã, Joana, Ventania, is the force of nature that comes to tear down walls and build bridges. Reincarnation of an ancestral force, her story connects the struggle of African people with contemporary resistance against inequality, racism and oppression. A hurricane of courage that blows where change is most needed.

- LIBERTAD: In the midst of World War II, an ordinary Cuban named Miguel is the victim of secret experiments — but instead of breaking him, this transforms him into something greater. Libertad is the echo of those who did not bow down to wars or the lies of the powerful. A soldier of freedom in times when even the truth seemed forbidden.

- LUNA - is a lawyer, mother, abuse survivor — and the chosen one of the goddess Hecate to face interdimensional forces that threaten the human soul. With her husband Orbe, she protects the real and spiritual world in mystical battles full of symbolism, emotion and ancestry. A unique, mature and powerful woman.

At Ideias Livres Comics, we do not just create heroes — we create hope, just revolt, questioning. We want you to see yourself in our pages, to be moved, to revolt and to inspire you to make a difference, even if it is in a small gesture.

We are independent. We are free. And we want the whole world to know: the fight continues, whether in the fields, in the cities, in space or in time.

How it all starts

​

Our story began in mid-1996, like that of every young boy who dreams of one day becoming a superhero or creating his own characters. That year, in October, our founder and creator, Professor Ivan C. S. Pinheiro (pictured below in 1996), was one of the many young people around our planet and received a subscription to DC Comics for his birthday.

A Batman fan since he had his first memories of life, he began to admire an entire universe of characters, still seeking to learn more about characters from other universes such as MARVEL, Vertigo, among others, and, mainly, to develop a taste for drawing and creation, also influenced by his cousins ​​who had interests in common. It didn't take long for him to create his first characters and his first comic books, where he spent hours and days sitting down drawing, writing, creating and also playing with his little figures (a very important part of creation in that context, when he gave life to the stories he drew on paper). 

Many of the characters we know and will meet in the universe of Ideias Livres Comics were born from the mind of that little boy who was just over seven years old. Foguete (the first of them, in the image above), Pássaro Negro, Aline Neves, Estrela, Cometa, Falcão, Ventania and many others who appear or will appear in our stories were born back then. Our teacher/creator developed this universe until a certain age in his adolescence when, for reasons of youth, he left everything aside and, in fact, lost, due to the changes and twists that life brings, the huge box where all the stories he had created and drawn over the years were kept. However, many of the facts had never left his memory and, after thirty years, when he had already graduated in History (not by chance), completed a master's degree, etc., he decided to resume this project that now receives support from more people so that it can be carried forward and, of course, the ones who benefit are us, fans of comics and inspiring characters, who face problems from the past and contemporary world, mixing fiction with reality, entertaining us and at the same time often presenting visions and ways of understanding society, politics and modern and contemporary philosophy.

This is the first step in the world that IDEIAS LIVRES COMICS wants to conquer and also bring to our geographic and social context the attention of people around the planet.
